ZONES BENCH CONTEST 10/8-01

Every year in my hometown Gävle we got something called Gävle City-Party...
..this is a time when the whole town is turned upsidedown!
Artists, tivolis, candybars & tents selling food & beer is everywhere with thousands
& thousands of visitors from everywhere who all are in full party mood!

So it was time to spice it up even more with a full flared hardcore bench party!!

And a party aint a party without a crowd..so from all around the country they came..
BIG men ready to do battle on my stage risking it all under the unhuman
heavy weights that would crush & kill the ordinary man!!!

OPTIMUM & EISELT had along with my shop TheZONEshop sponsored the event but I guess it was more the prestige of winning & to show the crowd the meaning of true strenght
that made these men come & compete...but hey not only men came...even 2 ladys dared to show up!

Starting of the contest did CONNIE KONGSDORF a 61kg
beautiful girl with brute power & a 95kg bench!

Then came our own 85kg SANDRA LÖNN who was going to try to beat strong women
TUSSENS record of 127kg..& 127kg she did but there it was stop...
(too bad considering that Sandra did 140(!)kg two weeks ago!)

Now it was time for the men to enter...

Lots of things happened...
Atleast 2 European records was broken & I guess a dozen Swedish ones...
ALLAN BERGSTRÖM a veteran at 73kg did beat his own European record with 15kg!
My buddy & Competing Strong-man PER JUHL almost got his head shopped off
when loosing control of 220kg but was OK in the end...
..My homeboy GÖRAN ROSÈN almost did 300kg..it was sooo close...
So it was with full vigors that yours truly ZONE CAPONE was rapping
at the microphone trying to keeep up with all that happened at that stage!!

3:FREDRIK SVENSSON (125KG) -235KG
4:PATRIK THUNBERG (126KG) -235KG
5:MATTI VUINTISVAARA (91KG) -205KG
6:PER JUHL (115KG) -215KG
7:FREDRIK JÄDER (91KG) -195KG
8:ALLAN ERIKSSON (73KG) -170KG
9:PETER FORSBERG (92KG) -185KG
10:MAGNUS THIGER (97KG) -185KG
