ZONE:When did you first get involved in
competition?
BRAD:My first show was in 1983 called the Jr. Northwestern
America
held in Boise, Id. I was 16 yrs. old.
ZONE: Secret on continued improvement?
BRAD:I feel the main key to sucess in this sport and in
my continued progress
is because of good eating habits and training consistant.
I eat 600-700 grams of protein per day year around
and feel that is 70% of the reason why I am still becoming bigger & better.
My diet stays pretty clean year around.
I have now been training for 23 yrs.
ZONE: How come you are not pro yet and when you look like
you could kick ass in the pro ranks.
BRAD:In reality I am easily in the top 2 or 3 largest
bodybuilders in the world
and in some aspects the largest.
I have guest posed and been around all the current champs
and without being boastful I more than hold my own with them.
The NPC ... our amateur organization and its National Competitions
which are the steping stone to the IFBB professional ranks
I find to be quite honest not to be real bodybuilding competitions.
For years the winners have been predetermined to win months in advance.
It has alot less to do with how you look and alot more to do
with with what you are willing to do for the person in charge to say it politely.
I have known alot of former champions that
have disclosed that information to me.
It is real sad that simply the best physique's do not always win.
ZONE:This is a wild sport what do you love about it?
BRAD:I love to continue to challange myself to become
bigger
and better every year and to grow into a better person along with it.
I really enjoy helping & motivating people
and showing bodybuilding in a positive light.
I just love to train and I love the lifestyle.
I have no doubt I will lift until my final days on this earth.
ZONE:What is the worst part?
BRAD:Aside from the political BS in the sport I find there
is a
certian amount of people involved that are arrogant and not real genuine.
I dont care for phony people and I believe in keeping it real.
I don't feel I am better than anyone else just because I carry
alot of muscle and believe in being respectful and humble.
My only other complaint would be that it is time consuming
and would like to spend more quality time with my family.
Its hard to balance it all.
ZONE:. 8 pages in Muscle Mag how does that feel?
BRAD:I was proud of my Muscle Mag interview and it was
my first
real majorcoverage after being involved in the sport for over 20 years.
I guess its nice to be heard although
they did cut out about 10% of what I actually said.
But I am thankful the article was done.
ZONE:Future plans?
BRAD:I plan to compete in the NABBA Universe in England
this October and hope to meet you and your site viewers while there.
I should come in roughly 265 lbs. and shredded.
I must first win the NABBA Nationals which will be here
in the states on Sept.
13th so if all goes well I will be seeing you all in England in October!
In closing, Thanks Zone your a great guy with a great website
