..............................................................................................
I first met Big-J at the Nutritionoutlet show in
Västerås...
I remember thinking when he was walking towards our booth
alongside Norways other freak IFBB pro Thomas Stellander
"Damned the brothers from Norway must be doing something right!"

To say that Big-J is a big guy is an understatement!
At 148kg offseason & a hard & ripped 117.5kg the guy is a f-ing FREAK!!!
And with his tattoos & the
matching outfit he got style thats for sure!
A perfect candidate to grace the page of our site!!
Lets shoot!!

"If you had been in better condition you would take it all...."
And that is a little anoying....but some day I will make it...and then...behold!!!
:)

ZONE:How did you got bit by the iron bug
& when
did you first get involved in competition?
BIG-J:I started lifting weights in the military beacuse
there were
nothing else to do and i guess you could say I got bitten by the iron bug then.
I gained 10kg in 7 months and i think that is ok when you consider the food
we were given.
When i started I was 85 kg so from then to now i gained 63kg.
I entered my first competition after 3 years and won..... :)
ZONE:What is the best part of this crazy sport?
BIG-J:The best part....? Hmmm...
There is a lot of advantages but I guess the best part is you can be
what you want to be...if you got the drive for it,
but what you put in is what you get out.... :)
ZONE:And the worst?
BIG-J:I would have to say the attention....
it would be nice to walk down the street without
everybody pointing and whispering.....
in the beginning it was ok but you get enough eventually...
ZONE:Man you are a BIIIG guy!
What is your diet like? Offseason & before a show?
BIG-J:Offseason i have a HARD time staying away from the
sweets...
but I do my best to get the nutrition i need.
I dont count calories offseason but i guess its rather much...
including the sweets that is! :)
The last diet I tried the "low carb\high fat" aproach and it worked very well...
in the beginning, then it kind of leveled out... Like I said earlier...I have
yet to
come in razor sharp, and i think (this is no excuse) I have a
"oversensitive" body when it comes to holding water...
I just have to find the "key" on how to get rid of the last retention before
the shows....
ZONE:Tell us abit about your training.
Offseason & before a show?
BIG-J:My training is pretty basic and I dont change before
a show...
except to lighter weights as my strenght drops.
But I do try to vary as often as I can...both routine and resistance.
After this spring shows i decided to go back to heavy basic
movements but with room for variation.
ZONE:I know you just like me like tattoos...tell us about it!
BIG-J:What can I say....when you first get started its
not easy to stop...
atleast its like that for me.
As soon as I finished with one i start thinking about what to do next... :)
I now have a total of 8 tatoos in various sizes.
Just now im working on one on the right shoulder similar to the one on the left.
After that im thinking of doing a "backpiece" below the "BAD BOY"
tattoo I already have from shoulder to shoulder....
what can i say...im hooked.
ZONE:Future plans?
BIG-J:I have not yet set a date for my next competition.
My plan was to try to be serious also in the offseason
and see what it would bring....I hope a lot!! :)
KEEP PUMPIN EVERYBODY!!
